Frequently Asked Questions
Avolus Charter
1. Do I need to go through security checks at the Airport?
No. Private travellers can avoid the disruption of security checks.
2. How soon do I need to arrive before the departure of the flight?
You only need to arrive 30 minutes before departure.
3. What if I am delayed by traffic on my way to the airport?
Not to worry, your private aircraft will wait for you.
4. Can I take my pet onboard?
Yes. Customers can travel with their pets which gives peace of mind to both humans and animals alike with the knowledge that they are safe and not being subjected to the distressing environment of a plane’s cargo hold.
5. What is the shortest period of notice I need to give for booking a flight?
It would depend on the clearing of payments. If you have an Avolus Card with sufficient amounts of credit for the flight, you can practically be off the ground within an hour.
Avolus Card
1. How does the Avolus card work??
The Avolus card operates like a high-value bank debit card. All you have to do is to credit your card and every time you travel the cost of each journey is automatically deducted from your card.
2. What is the difference between the Avolus Corporate Card and the Avolus Lifestyle card?
Whereas the Corporate cards are offered to companies and corporate travellers; the Lifestyle cards are offered to High Net-worth Individuals. The related benefits and privileges will differ with the type of card you have.
3. Does my card ever expire?
Your card never expires, nor does the credit on your card. We do not place annual minimum travel requirements, and the credits on your card do not get cleared after each year.
4. How much do I need to top up for travelling with different transports?
As a rough guide, you will need to top up:
- £500-5,000 for Limousines/Cars
- £10,000-50,000 for Light jet charter/Helicopter charter/Small yacht charter
- - £100,000-250,000 for Heavy jets/Heavy yachts
Why is Avolus up to 40% better price than the competition?
- Our ad-hoc charter flights are up to 40% cheaper when compared to fixed rate jet cards (ie: NETJETS, Air Partner). For example, whilst you will pay around €5,200/hr for a light cabin aircraft with Air Partner, our clients typically enjoy rates of around €3,000/hr for equivalent aircraft. As a variable priced model, whilst the prices do fluctuate according to seasonal demand we expect that you will be saving on over 90% of your flights.
- We employ global strategic aircraft selection to operate the most locally based aircraft to your flight, thus minimising on costly re-positioning fees
- In essence - you will be flying on the same aircraft, with the same crew for a fraction of the price.
Whilst Avolus does offer better pricing than fixed rate schemes; it is also important to bare in mind the merits of jet cards, in case objections are raised:
- Fixed rate pricing - organisations/individuals flying over 50hrs per annum enjoy being able to forecast how much their flying will cost them. It makes it much easier for accounting.
- Guaranteed availability within 24hrs at the fixed rate throughout Europe and US.
- One way pricing is sometimes as competitive as charter rates - particularly of flights under 3hrs on the light and midsize cabins.
How to counter Jet Cards:
- Costly (see above)
- Usage terms - requires users to fly the hours purchased within a fixed term - normally 2 years. Only applies to Net Jets.
- Geographically restricted - Europe, US, Mexico. When operating outside of these areas surcharges apply
- Minimum flight charges. Depending on the aircraft, you will be charged a minimum number of hours per flight. 1 hour for light cabin, 2 hours for everything larger
- Net Jets charge high density airfields (London Heathrow and London City Airport) and for fuel. Fuel is sometimes +€300/hr
